How to Install WordPress on Local Computer Using WAMP Server

WordPress is a great platform for blogging comparatively to any other platforms. But it needs little bit more resources and technical knowledge to operate it. You can start WordPress blogging in two way; one by WordPress.com and another by self-hosting. I recommend to start self-hosting WordPress blogging because you will have full control over your website.

So, you want to start self-hosting WordPress blogging but have no enough knowledge about it, you want to test how it works, what are the features, how it is installed online, how templates are applied or built; investing on host without knowing about it is risky therefore I recommend you to test WordPress on your own computer.

Why Testing on Local Computer is Important before starting.

  • Not to take a risk of loss of money on Host.
  • It can be operated offline, therefore you can test it without internet.
  • Later on, you can transfer that local WordPress Blog to online server.
  • It is without cost. All the tools for testing locally is with zero cost.
  • It doesn’t need internet connection to operate so, you can easily do anything on it.
  • If you are developing WordPress template then it is very convenient to work locally.

Now, let’s Install WordPress on Local Computer using WAMP server.

To install WordPress, you need to install Server because it is made with PHP web programming language which is server side scripting. I have written an article on “How to install WAMP server and start PHP programming” before, once read this article, do all the steps and then go to next step.
